My name is Benjamin Volk. I think of myself as something of an innovator and a problem solver. For me, joy in life comes from that "Eureka!" feeling of solving a problem. In recent years, this has led me into the field of Data through networking and database technologies, what I now call my specialty.
Currently, I am seeking an internship or Co-op for spring and/or summer 2019.

I hope to encourage the development of a diverse skill set by working on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects that help to make me into a better-rounded worker.
Here, I led a team to develop a fully 508 compliant website redesign for a local volunteer fire department. The design was based around ease of access and the automation of standardized tasks such as requesting a pool fill. The team had to work under a strict timeline and budget. The finalized site is current being reviewed by the dept before I implement the customized hosting and SSL protocols.
Here I managed a group of diverse individuals to help a small company build their: brand awareness, marketing materials, and PR! I also handled some HR recruiting through a networking event.
Here I led a small team through a startup competition. Using my knowledge and experience working in IT, I was able to validate the technology proposed in the business plan and justify the project as feasible for our campus. Since then, I continue to recommend IT needs for the project as well as assist in the writing of grants.
Project Camp Fire is a 360 Visualization environment intended for complete immersion into data and reduction in cognitive load. In this project, I led a small team to develop a prototype application to summarize a large data set on health information within the state of NY.
Here I was tasked with creating a method for tracing small cropping of images to a master image, as well as compensating for damaged images (as demonstrated here using a "Salt & Pepper" master image). The console demonstrates the percentage match of the image section.
This was a start-up I founded in 2016. This was a practice of business modeling and audience analysis. This project continued into late 2017, when the group elected to disband. The project is currently on hold until a reorganization is complete. Many great lessons were learned throughout this process in relation to the business creation process.
